In 2008 we all met through a mutual coworker at Domino’s Pizza. Steve and Keith were hesitant to form a cover band at first but once they heard Porter on vocals they decided to give it a shot. At that time we were a hard rock cover band called “Surrounded by Nines”. We had to take a hiatus from it after a year when Porter had a career opportunity come up in Pennsylvania. We all kept in touch and when Porter moved back to St Louis in 2012 we decided to get a project together again and added in Ben, our drummer. This time we wanted to play covers that people would party and dance to.
Why do you play music?
There is nothing better than doing something you love while making new friends, drinking beer, and getting paid to do it.
How would you describe your sound?
We definitely have an influence of rock in every song we play from country to hip-hop. Ben is a rock drummer by nature and Porter has a lot of rock influence in his vocals.
What influences your music the most?
When we pick songs that we want to cover, we want every person in the crowd involved. If they aren’t dancing to it we want them in their seats singing every word.
Where did the name come from?
Long story short, we wanted to find something we all had in common. We all have a Domino's background and Domino's had a line of pizzas called “Legends”. We wanted to have something in the lines of “cover” and it all just fell together as “Legends Undercover”.
Who are your musical idols?
We are all so different and have different influences which is what I think makes our sound so unique. We all bring our own influences to the table and it just somehow works. To name a few in no particular order – Willy Nelson, James Keenan, Mike Patton, Aaron Lewis, Neil Young, Gavin Rossdale and MJ.
Favorite show you’ve played so far?
Ballpark Village on a Saturday night after NLDS Game 2 of the Cardinals vs Cubs. It was at capacity and we raged out of our minds for 90 minutes to 8000 people
What is your favorite moment of performing for a live audience?
Porter – My favorite moments are seeing our friend’s reactions. They have known us for years and when I can have their jaws dropped and have them speechless or overly excited then I know we put on a hell of a show.

If you had to describe the band in one word it would be….
Let's go with “rage-party” Can that pass as one word?
