Every bride knows one thing about their wedding day… they want to look their best! From seeing family and friends to taking countless photographs, brides and grooms alike know they want to be picture perfect. Lucky for couples there are many things that can be done before and during their special day to ensure that they are looking their best! Here are some tips for putting your best foot forward!

1. Know your Goals Beforehand!

You want to lose 5 lbs to fit into that dream dress, you want an edgier haircut or longer bangs, the groom wants to grow his beard for the special day etc. Take steps to make sure you’re happy and confident with what you’ve chosen as your wedding day look and make it happen! Knowing your dream look in advance will give you plenty of time to take care of everything without any last minute freak outs.

2. Have a Wedding Day Emergency Kit Ready

Wet wipes, bobby pins, clear nail polish for pantyhose runs… the works! Make sure your maid of honor has you covered with anything you could need to keep up with any inevitable mishaps. This is your day! Mingle with your guests, kiss your new spouse and dance the night away, if anything happens you know you’ve got it handled.

3. Time for a Manicure

This may be the most you’re ever going to be taking photographs of your hands, and no one wants to be distracted by old nail polish chips on your fingernails from last month’s DIY manicure or your groom’s hangnails. Yes, your groom should also give his nails a little TLC too.

4. Try It Before You Buy It

If you’re thinking of trying a new makeup, hairstyle, or color for your wedding day, don’t wait until the week of to try it out. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to fix any disastrous errors in judgment of what you think you’ll love but actually end up hating. Check with your salon to see if they do any wedding specials! Most will be more than accommodating to help you try out different looks to find the perfect one for your day!

5. Give Yourself a Break

Wedding planning can be stressful, take a day to just relax and make sure you’re taking care of yourself. Leave your checklist to your wedding party, and make a cup of tea, get a massage, read a book, do whatever you need to do take a break from planning and just have a moment of me time. You’ll look and feel better because of it!

6. Water is Your Best Friend

It may seem obvious but make sure to drink water in the weeks leading up to and the day of your wedding. Making sure you’re properly hydrated makes your skin glow, your hair shiny, helps you maintain your weight and gives you energy. One also very important point, wedding dresses are heavy and hot, and no one wants to see the bride pass out on her wedding day, so make sure you stay hydrated!
