Avoid These 5 Wedding Mistakes

Weddings are a tornado of planning, scheduling, and balancing. It’s easy to get caught up and forget a few important details, they may not seem all that important but trust us the little things add up. So here are a few simple reminders for your special day from us to the happy couple!

  • Don’t Let the Bridezilla Take Over
We get it, it’s your day but… don’t let that be an excuse to turn into a bit of a monster. Make sure to remain level headed and let those in your wedding entourage know you're thankful for their help and insights during the planning process. Plan time to take a break from plans, schedules and color schemes to maintain all your usual daily routines and activities. Yes you’re getting married but it shouldn’t take over your life, it’s just a happy addition to it!

  • Don’t Go Over Budget
You only get married once! That makes it okay to splurge and pay an extra $100 on flowers or an extra $250 for the band than you originally planned right?! DON’T DO IT. Your budget is there for a reason. You and your fiancé need to take the time to meticulously look at your finances and what you can handle for a wedding budget and stick to it. Your wallet will thank you for it later.

  • Don’t Forget to Eat
You spent all of this time choosing the right delicacies to serve at your reception and everything looks fantastic… but you spent so much time making the rounds trying to say hello and thank all of your guests that all of a sudden it’s been 2 hours, dinner is finished and you forget to even take a bite. "Hangry" isn’t how you want to finish your wedding night, so don’t forget to take a minute and enjoy the amazing food you and your caterers have prepared for your day. Oh, and don’t forget the cake! Have your cake AND eat it too! Literally.

  • Don’t Forget to Take a Moment for You
We know you love your family and friends and that you are so happy to be celebrating your love for each other with them but don’t forget after your ceremony to take a moment to pause just the two of you. You’ll be glad to take a break from being surrounded by others to just take 15 minutes to stop and celebrate what just happened. Because guess what, you’re now Mr. & Mrs! Take a deep breath and relish the moment!

  • Don't Think That Everything Has to Be Perfect
Nothing ever really goes 100% to plan, and weddings are no exception. There’s going to be chance that the best man got stuck in traffic and is fifteen minutes late. Or your nail polish chips on your ring finger, or the flower girl is so nervous she cries and runs to mom instead of throwing the rose petals down the aisle. But the little mishaps don’t have to ruin the moment. Keep in mind that things can happen and that no matter what the day is really about you and the person standing right in front of you across the aisle. Today you get to marry the love of your life! That’s all that matters in the end.
